A Change of Pace

This week I've been visiting some wonderful blogger's who aren't involved in HYC, counting points, scale-watching, etc. I have to confess that I've become rather bored with the whole thing. Not with reading up on all of you and your week's but rather with my own posts on that subject. I feel like every Tuesday has become rather repetitive and I want to mix things up a bit.

If you want to continue following my progress on the scale, the ticker will still be updated every week (for better or for worse!) and my exercise calendar will DEFINITELY not be ignored! I just don't want to write about it anymore unless there is something dramatic and exciting to report!

I think that part of it has to do with my anticipation about going back to school. I was there yesterday paying for the fall semester and being in those old, familiar buildings brought me back to my undergrad years. The halls looked exactly the same! The only thing that changed was the amount of tuition (almost quadrupled from my last semester before graduating!!!!!) The weather has also been phenomenal for this time of year and I can smell a change in the summer air.

So, I hope that you'll come back and read my posts--there just won't be any numbers. Instead, just thoughts or feelings, continued pics from my garden and the adventure of becoming a teacher!
NO, I'M NOT LEAVING BLOGGING. AT LEAST NOT WITHOUT THROWING A BON VOYAGE PARTY ;)

I know what you mean about the change in the summer air. Not only is it cooler, but it feels different.

I am finishing up my last year of college and I cannot wait to be done. But I do like being on campus...I feel so smart and connected to such intelligent people.

A very good decision, Manuela! I'll definitely be keeping up with your blogs!
It's easy to become overloaded with the weight loss thing and overlook LIFE.

I've been visiting alot of gardening blogs since we went shopping that day for a change of pace.
The garden pics are beautiful. They really cheer me up when I see all of your beautiful flowers.
The weather makes me feel energetic...I love the cooler temps.
I can't wait to hear about your experiences at teacher's college. I hope you'll have time to update for us.

Well it is YOUR blog so you can blog about anything you like and how lovely to blog about your garden also....BEAUTIFUL PICUTRES!!

FAB! Becoming a teacher.
I went to college at 39 and qualified in Beauty Therapy and I also got passes in IT, Maths and English, I didn't take exams at school....long story, to do with my mother. I loved going to college later in life, I feel we get so much more respect and it is just better all round, easier to cope with and being able to handle the pressure better.

RE-Comment
I'm a JANUARY Baby also...woohoo Jan 8th, the same day as the GORGEOUS Elvis Presely's Birthday, or what was that is.

It would be nice to celebrate August Birthday's IF the weather was nice. We truly have not had a Summer this year and EVERYONE has complained....not a lot anyone can do about it though, even now it pouring with rain....typical British Summer time, BUT WORSE THIS YEAR!!

It is Karen who has inspired me to post my food pics and to eat more healthily. Karen and her pics are such an inspiration!

Well, there you go, another novel, just for you...teehee

Hugs to you xx

I love your pictures. I can follow along with the ticker for your progress. I want you to post about going back to school. I'm proud of you for going back. It is hard to do, I know, I did it. My degrees are 10 years apart. HA!!! What kind of teaching are you going into?

Thankfully I've settled back into my routine after vacation so I'm posting more about getting healthy. As a result, I'm down 1.6 lbs. Grace and blessings to you.

I understand what you mean all around. I'm more focused on training for half, and just eating clean than I am about the numbers. Well, I'm concerned, but I can only talk about staying the same weight for so long.

When do you start school? I go back on the 25th. I will be buying my books this weekend. I'm really nervous but yet excited for it.

I know I've been lax on the blogging since I don't have a ton to say. I have been working on getting around and reading too. Maybe it's the August blues! ha ha

okay - so I'll post twice on your blog too :-)

The Masters is in Interdisciplinary Arts for Children
(which means I'm an art teacher) albeit an unemployed one...

Yes...we all need a break from reporting how well we did, how much we lost, what we are eating and doing for exercise... I understand.

Keep posting though, cause I definitely want to hear how school goes :)

counting calories and counting points can be very boring and stale.

LOL...... your question.

I must know this--what the heck is "quorn"?

Quorn is a vegetarian soya protein thingymajiggy and it is nice. It can be treat like meat, either bake, cook in a sauce or whatever you like. I have it sometimes because it is VERY low in points.

When I bake it, I sometimes sprinkle some garlic powder or onion powder over it because Quorn can be a bit bland.

It comes in chunks, fillets, balls, burgers, bacon type, all sorts.

I hope that helps.

(((HUGS))) to you xx

Nice pictures...changing it up can make life more interesting! :)

I think changing it up is a good thing. I can totally relate to this point.

I'm kind of laying off the points until I can get an answer from the doc. Tired....just plain tired.
