Happy Again :)

I'm starting to feel a little bit better. I still have that not so normal feeling but at least it's the start of the month and I've got 4 whole weeks of May to shake things up!

I'm up a pound which is fine since the reason for it isn't bad eating or lack of exercise. I only skipped Sunday in terms of physical exercise so I feel good about that.

Today I'll be doing my first round of ab work for my May exercise challenge. My lower back has been bothering me a bit but that could be because of... I'll probably go for a bike ride by the river today and will try to take some pictures.

I'm pretty well finished with my yard prep for the planting season. This is the earliest ever! Most of the garden centres will be getting stock starting this weekend but, in Canada, planting season officially begins Victoria Day Weekend. That is a holiday for us and it comes before Memorial Day Weekend in the States. I can't wait! A lot of my perennials are budding and it looks like I'll have a bumper crop of peonies. Today's picture is of Sarah Bernhardt which is the peony you'll see in most gardens. I have 2 others that are very interesting but their names escape me. I'll be taking pictures of my garden soon.

Hoping that everyone else had a great week and that this new week is even better. I know it will be for me!

My neighbor behind me has those, and they get covered in ants. They smell absolutely devine when the wind blows my way! I'm going to be working in my yard tonight. I have an ugly back yard by my fence. I ripped it all out, and I just need to fix it now!

I'm LOVING your flowers. They are gorgeous. I'm attempting a patio garden this year (apartment living, what can you do?)so I'm hoping to see some flowers soon. Thanks for coming to visit my blog! I actually have family in London as well as Toronto... what a coincidence! But I live near Pittsburgh.

That peony is stunning! I miss them: they're hard to grow here in southern California, but I grew up surrounded by them in Utah. Thanks for sharing your bounty!

In answer to question about my running shoes...I was actually looking for a pair of Asics- gel equation 2, because they were recommended for my feet. (Also Asics Gel Nimbus 9's - but they were too pricey!) Unfortunately... the store did not have my size so I opted for a similar style. They are Avias (a2244WW). You need to know your running style. I underpronate which means my foot rolls out (If the heels on you shoes are worn down on the outsides - you underpronate - or it's also called supination.) I also bought a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear - was advised to do that also. I got the shoes - regularly $69 for $36 on sale at Kohl's. Prices are all over the place so I thought I'd be frugal before I lay any real money down. They sure made a difference though! My groin killed after my first 2 runs. This time - nothing! And my feet didn't hurt either like they did with my old shoes. (Which by the way were about 6 years old and definately not running shoes!)

Good luck! (I'm posting this answer on my blog also in case others are interested but wanted to be sure you saw the answer!)

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. That flower is gorgeous. I really need to get out in my yard and so some more yardwork but I just haven't had the energy lately.

BTW, thank you so much for the well wishes for my mom :). She is home and doing much better.

Glad to hear you are feeling better again!

I love the look of peonies. I'm deathly allergic to them though! I used to keep peonies in my front garden (where I could see them from my front picture window!) but not in my back (where I was often out and about) They're beautiful enough to have around regardless :)

I hope to be doing some gardening in my new place. I have to get permission from the owners, but don't see why they would refuse. Of course it can't be the lovely colorful bulb garden or rose gardens I used to have when I lived in the NE... here in Albuquerque it's got to be drought hardy plants.
