Tuesday Check-In #6

Come on, has it really been six weeks since I've been tuning in to the HYC? Time really flies. I'm so glad that I've taken this a little more seriously and have been doing SOMETHING! After the previous week having been such a downer, I'm glad to say that this one has been the exact opposite.

I'm down 3.5 pounds and have kicked it up a notch on the exercise belt. So, I'll be giving myself a 5 pounds gone badge this week! I also started the Couch to 5K training program. I think that's what really helped in the loss this past week. I was going to go outside to start week 2 but I think it'll have to be indoors because it's RAINING. Well, I won't complain too much because it ain't snow :)!

Way to go!!

I've been thinking about that Couch to 5K, but I think I may have to do several 'pre weeks' first. I'm not much used to running AT ALL, and I think even running 5 minutes scattered into 20 minutes of walking might be injurious to my ankle.

I started it this week. It is so hard to run 60 seconds. I was panting like crazy. I'll try to slow my pace so I can breath next time. I wonder if I'll have to go slower than the 8 weeks that are scheduled. I hate the panting. I was a runner years ago and I didn't pant then.

I know it gets better. I just want it to get better faster.

Congratulations on losing your five! That is an awesome thing for anyone!

I've been considering doing the couch to 5k, but I think I want to wait until I can comfortably job before stepping it up to running.

I've begun running and I to think that has helped with the weight loss.

Keep on going!

Wow! Love the new look.

Great job! Congrats on the loss.

Thank you for all your support. I feel like you understand exactly what I'm going through. Funny how I haven't thought about my weight much with everything else going on.

Thanks again!

Great job starting the couch to 5k program! So many HYC people are doing this and yes its hard to believe how far into the year we are! The time is going to pass anyhow, we might as well get healthy as it passes and not look back with regrets!

I'm warming up that 5lb badge for you!

Congratulations!! Every time I read that somebody new has started C25K training, I get a little braver, thinking maybe, just maybe I can get this 53-year old body to cooperate. Please keep going and let me "watch" for a while. I can feel the pull to try it!

Hi there!

Congrats on your first 5 pounds! May it be the first of as many as you want to lose! :) I too started C25k recently (I'm starting week 4 tomorrow), and I absolutely love it! But I can sympathize about not enjoying it in the chilly weather. I can't wait for Spring anymore!

Hope you feel better soon! Take care!
