New Challenge

I came across a couple of bloggers who are starting a 100 Push Ups Challenge. I find that I'm enjoying these challenges and thought to myself "Why Not?" I'm sure that once September rolls around and I'm back in school full-time I won't have the luxury of trying to fit so much exercise into a day but this one is doable because you can do it anywhere!

I did the test just a few minutes ago and managed 17--yikes! Those were the regular ones. I'll try the routine out with those and if it's too hard I'll go to the modified ones (on my knees, please!). I'll be interested to see just how high I can get with this program. After all, C25K helped me with running. I do need to work on my upper body strength and this may help.

Anyone else want to give it a whirl? Check out 100 Push Ups and see if you're up for a challenge. What have you got to lose? I'll be starting it on Monday.

Enjoy your long weekend ladies!

Ok, Manuela, I'm in! I can do 18 "girl" push-ups and I'm sticking with these until I can get my strength up to do the regular ones.

Hey I'm thinking of doing those just to get my strength up!

Yahoo, glad that you're in :)

I've been thinking about it... so this is just the push I need. Count me in!

Modified, not girl pushups. :)

I'm training for it, too! I'm giving myself a test this weekend. Last time I was at 30; I hope to make it at least that far again.

It's funny, I have no idea where I saw the term "girl pushups"! I thought it was at the challenge site but looked again and it wasn't.

Hope I didn't offend any feminists out there (I was actually a bit annoyed at that term :)

I hate push ups. I still remember high school where I could never do very many. I'll think about this one. But squats I can do.

OMG, I have SO far to go before I can do pushups! I've started doing pull ups at the pool, and doing more exercises for my chest, but I don't think it's even possible to do a pushup at my weight and body composition.

...and I just finished a post about fearlessness?! Ugh!

I was brought up with the term "girl pushups". So now they're "modified pushups"... lol. Well, whatever they're called, I have never been able to do a single regular pushup in my life! I will look at the link, though.

I'm so glad the irises arrived safely! The basics with planting them are to plant in a sunny location, not too deep, with nothing shading their bases and, most importantly of all, don't overwater. (I hope the weather cooperates.)

Good luck with the push-ups!

I think I'll pass on the pushup challenge. Maybe when I have less weight on my boney knees. Good luck. Hope you had a great 4th. Happy rest of the weekend to you. JC

I should probably buck up and do this... but you know what... My sunburn right now needs to go away first before I go crashing down to the floor!

100 push-ups? I think YOU can do it since you already are so active. Good luck to you!

If you can't do 100 to start, remember that it breaks down to 10 sets of 10.

Do ten, give yourself a short break and do ten more.

Repeat this until you can do the 100 without a break and you've got it!
